Majordomo format files Majordomo uses formatting files to allow the output of Majordomo commands to be customized according to the interface, and potentially the language, used by the person making the request. Formatting files are templates that support keyword variable substitutions. See "help variables" for more information on the use of keyword variables. At present, there are four interfaces supported: text, wwwadm, wwwconfirm, and wwwusr. The text formatting is used for responses to requests from e-mail messages and the mj_shell program. The wwwadm, wwwconfirm, wwwusr formatting is used by the WWW CGI programs. Most format files are not supported by all four interfaces; the interfaces are listed in parentheses at the beginning of the description for each file. It is possible to retrieve any of these files using the get command, according to the interface name. For example, to retrieve the configshow_categories file for the wwwadm interface, use the command get-edit GLOBAL /format/wwwadm/configshow_categories The get-edit command wraps the file in a "put" command to make editing and replacing the file easier. Note that the format files are stored in a directory that is used by all domains at this site. If you use the put command to improve a format file, you will actually be creating a copy of the file that is stored within a file space that is specific to one list in one domain. See "help admin_domain" for a details about how domains are managed by Majordomo. The directories that hold revised files are not created automatically; it may be necessary for you to create them with the "put-dir" command before you edit any format files. See "help put" and "help index" for more information. accept ------ (text, wwwadm, wwwconfirm) This file displays a summary of the result when a "consult" token is accepted.
